SOW: in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny location after all danger of frost. Sow seeds 6" apart in rows 3 apart or 6-8 seeds in raised "hills", set 6 apart. Cover with 1/2-1" of fine soil. Firm lightly and keep evenly moist. Seedlings emerge in 7-14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
THIN: gradually to stand 18" apart when seedlings are large enough to handle or to the 3 strongest plants in each "hill".
Suggestions: Pick fruits often to encourage productivity. Fertilize when plants are up.
SPACESAVER: May be grown in containers, 1 plant to an 8" pot; 3 plants to a 12-13" pot. Use a fertile porous soil mixture; keep plants well watered, especially during hot, dry weather.
