SOWING: Seeds can be started indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last spring frost. Or direct-sow seeds outside after all danger of frost has passed to a depth of 1/16 inch. Seeds can also be sown outdoors in late Summer or early Fall in mild winter climates.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When seedlings are 2 to 3 inches high, thin to 6 to 8 inches apart. Replant thinned plants.

GERMINATION: 14-21 days, depending upon soil and weather conditions. Seeds need darkness to germinate.

GROWING TIPS: The plants need rich, moist, well drained soil and prefer cool weather. Remove faded flowers for continued blooming. During hot weather plants need to be kept moist. Zone Hardiness 1 to 11.

Annual (one season plant), Perennial (short-lived ,permanent plant in mild winter climates)  A compact,  plant that produces a blend of vibrant  purple, yellow, and blue flowers.  The delicate flowers are fragrant and edible.  They also make great garnishes.  Use around the base of trees, flower beds, containers, borders, and inter-planted with Spring bulbs. Easy to grow.
