SOWING: Seeds can be started indoors 4 to 6 weeks before last spring frost. Or direct-sow seeds outside after all danger of frost has passed to a depth of 1/8 inch. Grows in various soil conditions.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When seedlings are 2 to 3 inches high, thin to 6 to 10 inches apart. Replant thinned plants.

GERMINATION: 7-30 days, depending upon soil and weather conditions.

SUGGESTIONS: For earliest bloom, start in a sunny window 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting outdoors. Does not transplant well. Recommend  direct-seeding outside. Keep plants moderately moist.

Nemophila maculata

Annual (One season plant). An easy to grow hardy annual. Attractive, bright -white petals with vivid purple spots at the tips. The cup-shaped flowers bloom continuously all spring. Has a low spreading habit. Prefers full sun but tolerates some shade. Mixes well with other flower varieties such as baby -blue eyes, spurred snapdragon, Indian blanket, and Shirley poppy. Used under trees, edging, hanging baskets, flower gardens, or as an attractive bulb cover in frost free areas.
