SOWING: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Or plant outdoors in well-drained soil in early spring, after all danger of frost,  when soil is  65-68F. Cover seeds with 1/8 inch of fine soil.

GERMINATION: 7-21 days, depending upon soil and weather conditions.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Transplant
when young seedlings are about 2 inches high and after all danger of frost has passed. Space 10-12 inches apart. Replant thinned plants.

SUGGESTIONS: Keep soil moderately moist during germination and when plant matures.

Annual (One-Year Plant). A showy, snapdragon -like 12-24 inch plant. Produces small violet and white pagoda-shaped flowers. Has bright green foliage. Blooms heavily and grows quickly from Spring to Summer. Reseeds itself if seeds fall on bare ground. Use in the front of borders, under deciduous trees, or as a ground cover for bulbs. Stunning when planted in mass. Easy to grow. Has a long blooming period. Great for cutting.
