SOWING: Seeds can be started indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last spring frost.  Or seed outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Sow seeds directly into soil 1/16 inch and cover with fine soil.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When seedlings are 1 to 2 inches high, thin to 6 to 12 inches apart. Replant thinned plants.

GERMINATION: 10-30 days, depending upon soil and weather conditions.

SUGGESTIONS: For earliest bloom, start in a sunny window 6 to 8 weeks before transplanting outdoors.
MINT, LEMON
Monarda citriodora

Annual (One-Season Plant ). A hardy annual or tender perennial. Produces a lavender to deep purple flower that is surrounded by white to pinkish-purple bracts. There are one to six densely flowered clusters on an interrupted spike. Use in flower gardens, meadows, mixtures, roadsides, and slopes. Great for cutting and dried flower arrangements. Can tolerate very dry conditions. When the leaves are crushed they release a sweet citrus aroma. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.
