WHEN: Plants may bloom the first year if started in early spring. Sow seeds in mid to late summer for blooms the following year. Cover seed with 1/16 inch fine soil.
SOWING: Plant seeds in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Indoors - Plant seeds indoors 10-12 weeks before last frost and transplant outside after all danger of frost is past. Plants may bloom the first year if started in early spring. Plant outdoors in the spring as soon as soil can be worked (only in areas with long growing seasons). Direct sow seeds in mid to late summer for blooms the following year. Cover seed with 1/16 inch fine soil.
THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Carefully thin or transplant seedlings when about 2 inches high to 12 to 18 inches apart.
SUGGESTIONS: CAUTION: Foxglove is poisonous if eaten. Can be planted in a mostly sunny spot in cooler climates and in shadier areas where the climate is hot. Plants thrive in moist, well drained acidic soil. Cut spikes back after flowering for possible later blooms. (Deadheading encourages additional blooms.)

BIENNIAL - Two season plant. The first foxglove bred to bloom the first year from seed, 5 months from sowing. Dense flower spikes with 3-inch tubular flowers in a soft pastel mix of rose, lavender, cream, yellow, red, and white flowers with distinctly speckled throats. Bears up to 9 dense spikes per plant. Repeat showing second year. Self sows in mild climates. 30 -36 inch tall, easy to grow plants with beautiful flower spikes. Ideal for shady spots. It is also an excellent backdrop in the landscape for shorter flowers. Plants are native to northwestern Europe. A great cut flower.
