SOWING:  Plant outdoors in summer for blooms the following spring. Barely cover seeds with fine soil. Seed can also be started indoors in March to get a jump on the growing season.  Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When plants are about 3 inches high, thin or transplant seedlings to about a foot apart.

SUGGESTIONS:  Grow in full or partial sun, in soil that is well drained. Difficult to transplant once established, so place in permanent spot. Lightly shear after spring flowering to keep plants bushy and at their best.

HARDY PERENNIAL. 12 inches high. A staple flower of any rock garden or perennial planting. Masses of bright yellow flower clustered mounds with silver gray foliage appear in early spring and begin blooming very early. Spreading plants with dense heads of golden-yellow flowers in early spring. Low trailing habit makes this a good, hardy ground cover. In mild temperature climates such as California, can bloom all year round. Ideal for borders, sunny banks and wall crevices. Also, it is attractive in containers and baskets. Grows best in sun or partial shade to a height of 12 inches. 180-300 days to bloom. Hardy in zones 4-10.
