SOWING: Seeds can be started indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last spring frost. Or direct-sow seeds outside after all danger of frost has passed to a depth of 1/8 inch. Grows in moderate to dry soil.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When seedlings are 2 to 3 inches high, thin to 12-16 inches apart. Replant thinned plants.

GERMINATION: 5-10 days, depending upon soil and weather conditions.

GROWING TIPS: For earliest bloom, start in a sunny window 6 to 8 weeks before transplanting outdoors. Keep plants moderately moist. Deadhead plants to extend blooming period.

Perennial (Permanent plant). A compact plant bearing pale-violet ½ inch flowers. The pale-violet flowers have a yellow disk center. The lower leaves are rosette and an erect, hairy stem protrudes from the plant. Use in front of flower gardens, rock gardens, and containers. Great for cutting. Attracts butterflies. Easy to grow and hardy.

PLEASE NOTE: The flowers in the picture look white at first glance, but they are a pale-violet color.
