SOWING: Sow seed directly outdoors from as soon as soil is workable. May be seeded directly outdoors in full sun. Cover with 1/2 inch fine soil. Leave 12 to 18 inches between rows. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

GERMINATION: 7 to 14 days, depending upon soil and weather conditions.

THINNING AND TRANSPANTING: When seedlings are 2 inches high, thin/transplant to 2 to 4 inch apart. 

SUGGESTIONS: Can be grown in zones 7 -10. Plant anytime from Spring to Summer.  Can over winter in mild areas to produce fennel seed the second summer. Water regularly.

50 to 60 days.  The leaves of this herb are feathery. The thick, overlapping leaf stalks form bulbs at the base of the plant. The large bulbs are crisp and flavorful.  Great for salads, fish and egg dishes or cooked as a vegetable. Excellent for seasoning sausages.   Harvest in 50 to 60 days.
