SOWING:  Cool season crop. Start seed indoors or in greenhouse in early spring (5-7 weeks before planting outdoors). Or plant directly outdoors in mid spring or early summer. Sow 2-3 seeds together every 18 inches. Planting depth 1/8 inch.  Time crop so heads mature in cool weather.

THINNING: When seedlings are 1 inch tall thin to one plant every 18 to 24 inches.

SUGGESTIONS: Plant cabbage in a sunny location where no cabbage was grown the year before. Cabbage prefer rich soil and regular watering. .

Largest of all cabbage! Flattened, pale green globe measuring 8 to 10 inches across and sometimes more than a foot across. Weighing 10-12 pounds or more. Superior quality and best variety for making kraut. Flavor is sweet and mild. Excellent keeper and shipper. Keeps excellently all winter long -- as solid as the day you stored it.
