SOWING: In fertile, well-drained soil after all danger of frost from spring to early summer.  For "hill" culture, space 6-8 seeds in groups 5-6  apart.  Cover with 1" of soil, firm lightly and keep moist.

GERMINATION: 10-15, depending upon soil and weather conditions.

THINNNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Thin to 3 strong plants to each group if using "hill" method when seedlings are 3-4" high.

HARVEST: Before frost or after 1 or 2 frosts. Clip stems close to the vine.
 
Suggestions:  Keep soil moderately moist during germination. Water deep and make sure plants are far enough apart so they do not crowd each other.

110-120 days. This plant produces deep orange 15 to 25 pound pumpkins. This original Halloween pumpkin has thick flesh and a flattened bottom. The rind is smooth with shallow ribs and the flesh is light yellow. Great for making pumpkin pie or Halloween Jack O'lanterns. Harvest in 110-120 days.
