SOWING: In fertile, well-drained soil after all danger of frost from spring to early summer. For "hill" culture, space 6-8 seeds in groups 3-4 apart. Cover with ½ to 1" of soil, firm lightly and keep moist.
GERMINATION: 10-15, depending upon soil and weather conditions.
THINNNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Thin to 3 strong plants to each group if using "hill" method when seedlings are 3-4" high.
HARVEST: Before frost or after 1 or 2 frosts. Clip stems close to the vine. Make sure pumpkins are dry.
Suggestions: Keep soil moderately moist during germination. Water deep and make sure plants are far enough apart so they do not crowd each other. Vines do well on a trellis.
