SOWING: Can be direct seeded, after all danger of frost in rows 30 to 36  inches apart. Or grown indoors 8-10 weeks before transplanting outdoors.  Cover seed lightly with about 1/4 inch of fine soil, and firm soil gently.

GERMINATION: 10 to 20 days , depending upon soil and weather conditions.
Keep soil moderately moist using warm water.

HARVEST: Clip fruit stem with shears. To encourage further production, pick eggplant when fruit is of desired size about 6 to 8 inches.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When seedlings are 3 inches transplant to 20 to 30 inches apart.

SUGGESTIONS: Will not tolerate frost. Can be damaged by temperatures below 40F. Fertilize monthly and water regularly.

80 days.  A deep purple, egg shaped globe  that grows about 6 to 5 inches.   The flesh is smooth, creamy and pale yellow. It is almost 100 years old and is one of the earlier type.  The fruits ripen perfectly.    Harvest in 80 days.
